Welcome, Lisa!

The Rush County Community Foundation is thrilled to formally welcome Lisa Benjamin as the organization’s new Marketing and Communications Officer.

Lisa joined the Rush County Community Foundation (RCCF) team on September 9th and will be working with us part-time on the management and execution of communications and marketing activities for the Foundation.  Along with 19 years of nonprofit communications experience, Lisa brings a love for Rush County and helping others that makes her the perfect fit for the new position at RCCF.

When asked to share some information about herself, Lisa told the story so well (no surprise!) that it seemed more appropriate to share information about her, from her:  “I moved to Rush County 15 years ago with my husband, Tyler, but grew up visiting all my life. We live in the farmhouse built by my great great grandparents more than 100 years ago. We’ve met so many kind and welcoming people and absolutely love the peace and quiet of the country. We were both born and raised in Indy but can’t imagine living anywhere else. Previously, I worked 19 years for a nonprofit in Indianapolis, in communications and information to tell the organization’s story. It’s so important to me that my work involves helping others and our planet. I am overflowing with excitement, joy and honor to join the team at RCCF and continue working in the nonprofit sector – especially in my own community! And that 12 minute commute is pretty sweet, too. I’ve been involved with marketing and social media at the Heart of Rushville Farmers’ and Artisans Market for the past four seasons. I’m also a vendor and sell my nature-themed photography. I’m the vice president of imagine:nation, the newly formed Arts and Cultural Council of Rush County. It’s been so exciting to be part of the growth of both of these groups that add value to our way of life. I enjoy traveling, camping in our 1983 TransVan and hiking with our two dogs, Ruby and Ginger. I love to cook, garden, read and ride my bike while at home. I recently took a watercolor workshop and look forward to exploring that more. We love live music and travel frequently for bluegrass shows and festivals. And of course, nature photography, which I shoot solely with my phone. I call like to call myself a phoneographer.”

We are delighted to have Lisa join our team.  Lisa’s expertise will help us share our donors’ stories, grant impact, and aid the growth of our organization.  Please stop in on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to help us welcome her to the RCCF!
