YIP Spotlight: Hannah McGee

Hannah McGee is currently a junior at Butler University studying Public Relations and Advertising with a Spanish minor. She works at several on and off campus jobs, and interns at Mustard Seed Gardens wedding/event venue. Also, Hannah is involved with Public Relations Student Society of America and serves as Butler’s vice president of the organization. On campus, Hannah gives back through her sorority, Tri Delta. This sorority’s philanthropy is St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and Hannah raises money for them at several events with her sorority sisters. Hannah also volunteers at Wheeler Mission homeless shelter, Gleaner’s food pantry, and UPS volunteer days. Off campus and back home in Rush County, Hannah gives her time to the Rushville FFA Chapter. This organization taught Hannah a lot in high school, and she now teaches others about FFA through judging events and helping Mr. Orme.

With all of her current examples of philanthropy, it is almost unbelievable that Hannah once thought philanthropy was boring. However, her time with Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) showed her how fun philanthropic service can be, especially when volunteering with friends. Also, her scholarships from the RCCF have shown her how important philanthropy is to do regardless of how fun it is. RCCF is proud of Hannah’s growth in philanthropy and all the ways she is giving back!
