YIP Spotlight: Cora Owens

RCHS Sophomore Cora Owens, also known as the “crazy leadership girl,” is currently leading her peers in philanthropy. Cora helps her school by serving in many clubs such as Principal’s Advisory Board, FFA, and as class president. In the community, Cora volunteers through Orange Christian Church, Richland Farmers and Farmerettes 4-H Club, and Jake’s Heart of Gold. Jake’s Heart of Gold is an amazing foundation Cora’s family started to help students aged 6 through senior year of high school get free heart scans at Rush Memorial Hospital in memory of Jake McKee. Cora is also in her second year of Youth in Philanthropy (YIP). So far, YIP has allowed Cora to see just how far smaller tasks can go to help other people and the community. Cora has a love for the community and hopes people realize how fun it is to live in Rush County. RCCF loves having a passionate leader like Cora on our YIP team, and we are excited to see how she continues to give back!
