The Rush County Community Foundation (RCCF) is delighted to announce that Abi Roszell has joined the RCCF team as a Lilly Endowment Community Foundation Intern for the fall semester.  Abi is a 2015 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School and is currently senior studying English at IUPUI.  Abi is the daughter of David and Jennifer.

Abi will be busy this fall interviewing donors to create donor profiles and write fund stories, developing infographics, writing impact articles, updating social media, and creating content for a New Donor Welcome Packet.  After assisting the Foundation’s marketing efforts for the Brackets for Good fundraiser in the spring, the staff and board were eager to welcome her back!  Abi’s understanding of the RCCF and expertise in creative communications will be beneficial as the Foundation seeks ways to showcase our donors and funds.

Community Foundation Internships (CFI) is a program of the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance funded by a Lilly Endowment, Inc. grant under its GIFT (Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow) initiative for Indiana community foundations.  CFI will further the Endowment’s efforts to build healthy community foundations and provide high-quality internship opportunities in Indiana.

These internships are intended to provide real-life work experience for students wishing to advance their educational and personal development.  The placements will introduce those selected to the roles community foundations and philanthropy play in our community’s quality of life.  The experience will build project management, communication, creative, and organizational skills.

As of 2017, all but five community foundations have participated in the CFI program. The program has provided more than 425 Indiana college students with real-life work experiences and assisted the community foundations by providing much needed operational support in many areas.  The Rush County Community Foundation is grateful to Indiana Philanthropy Alliance and Lilly Endowment, Inc. for the opportunity.
