Grantee Update: City of Rushville Parks Department

The City of Rushville Parks Department received a grant from the Rita Yager Memorial Ag Fund for $1,210.16. They purchased supplies such as binoculars, field guides, books, nets, and magnifying glasses to enhance the experience for participants in their nature programming. Offering programs to all ages, the Parks Department wants participants to increase their awareness of our natural world.

During the heat of the summer the kids participating in Nature School did a creek stomp to learn about macroinvertebrates (microscopic animals without a backbone). “To say we had fun on a really hot day is an understatement,” shared Kathi Jackley, director.
