“All is Well” Community Fund Established

Greg and Jennifer Krodel recently established the “All is Well” Community Fund, an unrestricted endowment fund at the Rush County Community Foundation (RCCF) that supports the community grants program.

As founders of the Joan L. McLaughlin Memorial Fund, Greg and Jennifer recognize the impact of charitable giving through the Foundation.  Their scholarship (established in 2008 in memory of Jennifer’s mother) has supported 25 students throughout the past 11 years.  Eager to make an impact on the community at-large, they decided to take advantage of the $2 for $1 match made available by the Lilly Endowment Inc. GIFT VII initiative to begin an unrestricted endowment fund.

Unrestricted endowment funds, commonly referred to as “community grant funds”, provide support to the community at-large through competitive grant disbursement.  Because of their flexibility, these funds provide a wide range of impact.  Since the first award in 1994, these funds have impacted 112 nonprofit organizations serving Rush County through $1.1 million in grants.  The All is Well Community Fund will enhance the Foundation’s giving and forever impact Rush County nonprofits and the people, programs, and projects that they support.

Alisa Winters, RCCF Executive Director thanked Greg and Jennifer, stating, “Throughout the past five years I’ve had the opportunity to get to know and work with the Krodels through Greg’s two terms on our board and their involvement with the McLaughlin Fund.  Aside from being wonderful supporters of the Foundation’s work, they have become friends.  I’ve been fortunate to see the impact of their generosity on the students their scholarship fund has supported and I sincerely look forward to recognizing the impact of the All is Well Community Fund.  The Krodels are dedicated to ensuring that all is well in Rush County – today and in to the future – and we are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to help them achieve that goal.”

If you would like to make a donation to this Fund you may send your donation to the Rush County Community Foundation, 117 N Main St, Rushville, IN 46173 with a note included that you would like it added to the “All is Well” Community Fund.  Donations to the “All is Well” Community Fund, and other unrestricted endowment funds, are being matched $2 for $1 by Lilly Endowment Inc.’s GIFT VII initiative for a limited time!
