Alexander Farms Scholarship Fund

Scholarship established to assist a Rush County resident who will attend an accredited college or university to study a medical-related field.

Ashley Spurlin Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established in 2010 by Mark, Jana and Ryan Spurlin in memory of their daughter and sister.  This fund is presented to a RCHS graduate planning to attend Indiana State University.  If no applications are received from Indiana State University students then this scholarship may be awarded to a student attending any accredited four year college or university within the state of Indiana, with preference given to students studying business or medical.

 

 

Bob and Avie Pike Family Memorial R.N. Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to support a Rush County resident accepted into a nursing program pursuing an education resulting in licensure as a Registered Nurse.

BPW Working Woman’s Scholarship

Established in 1994 by the Rushville Business and Professional Woman’s Organization to assist a female Rush County student 25 years of age or older with continuing education.  The scholarship should be awarded to a student with at least two years’ work experience enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program at an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school.

Carol Niehoff Hardwick Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by Ralph and Jan Niehoff in memory of their daughter, Carol. This scholarship fund supports RCHS graduates who attend Ball State University.

Catherine “Katie” Brashaber Continuing Education Scholarship Fund

For educational scholarships for a woman/women who are accepted into and attend accredited two or four year public or private institutions of higher learning and/or seek qualified continuing education courses. Preference for scholarship award(s) should be given to a woman working in Rush County who is classified as a “nontraditional” student who may have financial need.

Charlotte Frame Sleeth Trust Scholarship

A scholarship fund that provides support to Rush County students willing to work to earn all or part of their expenses associated with receiving a higher education.

Christopher Lee Davis Scholarship Fund

Established by Gary and Peggy Davis to memorialize their son, Chris, this scholarship fund will benefit a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School working to pay for his/her own education as they pursue a degree in an automotive program at an accredited trade school or 2 or 4-year university.

If no applicants apply seeking an automotive-related degree, preference will be given to an applying student attending an accredited trade school.

Courtney Anne Huskins Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by Larry and Sarah Huskins in memory of their 3 year old daughter who loved learning, this scholarship is available to a RCHS graduate who attended Rush County schools for at least 6 years.

Danny E. and Barbara J. Gettinger and Family Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund that is awarded to a student who attended Rushville Consolidated High School for four years and is planning to study in the field of agriculture at a two or four-year college, university or vocational school or enrolled in an accredited agricultural short course.

David and Barbara Malson Indiana University Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established to provide two scholarships annually:  $1,000 to a Rush County, Rushville Consolidated High School graduating senior with the most financial need of applicants preparing to enter their freshman year at Indiana University, Bloomington and $1,000 to a Rush County, Rushville Consolidated High School graduate and enrolled Indiana University student with the most financial need of applicants preparing to enter their senior year at Indiana University, Bloomington.

David L. Green M. D. Creativity Award

This scholarship fund recognizes two students annually, one academically and one vocationally, who best exemplify clearly creative efforts in their chosen field.

Dick and Jane Dragoo Memorial Scholarship Fund

Scholarship established to assist students who are accepted into and attend an accredited college or university, and in particular to students who are pursuing a degree in education.

Dick Neeb Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to provide support to a RCHS graduates attending a technical or vocational school.

Dr. Frank H. and Jean C. Green Memorial Fund

Established by John C., William L., and David L. Green in memory of their parents Dr. Frank and Jean Green. Funds enable two different programs:  the Jean C. Green Creative Writing program and scholarships for academically successful students in financial need exemplifying outstanding talent in the areas of Math, Science, English and History.

Duward G. Reddick Kiwanis Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to help a deserving young man from Rushville Consolidated High School obtain a college education.

East Central Opportunities Scholarship Fund

A permanently endowed scholarship fund to support a permanent resident of Rush County who has lost their job from a Rush County employer due to downsizing or the business closing. The student must be planning to attend Ivy Tech Community college and show proof of acceptance.

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Green and Barbara Blacklidge Green Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship fund provides financial assistance for furthering education to a graduating senior of RCHS.

Frances Duncan Murphy Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established by William Murphy and David Murphy to recognize their mother’s passion for education and business.  This scholarship should be awarded to a female student attending Indiana University, with preference given to those studying journalism or communications.

Frank L. and Frances L. Hilburt Fund

Rush County Community Foundation’s first scholarship fund.  This scholarship fund is awarded annually to students who have completed one year of college or more, plan to continue pursuing their education, and practice a profession.  Preference will be given to students who plan to remain/return to Rush County.

George E. King D.V.M. Veterinary Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to assist a Rush County resident attending the Purdue University Veterinary School.

Glen A. and Alice R. Wiley Scholarship Fund

This fund will award two scholarships. One to a graduating senior from Rushville Consolidated High School who intends to pursue an education degree to become a teacher. One to a graduating senior from RCHS who intends to pursue a vocational degree to work in the field of mechanics or a like trade.

Gordon D. and Mary S. Wilson Fund

A scholarship fund to support a Rush County student attending Miami University of Ohio with the cost of out-of-state tuition.  If no qualified applications are received from a student(s) planning to attend or attending Miami University of Ohio then this scholarship may be awarded to a Rush County student planning to attend or attending an accredited four-year college or university in the state of Indiana.

Grant Brower Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 2013 by Jason and Becky Brower. The scholarship fund is awarded annually to a graduating senior of Rushville Consolidated High School and/or an accredited home school in Rush County. The scholarship recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be planning to attend a two or four year college, university or trade school.

Grayson J. Mahin Scholarship Fund

Mr. Mahin was a lifelong teacher for Rush County Schools.  Feeling that teaching is a much-needed and beneficial profession, he established this scholarship fund to support a graduating senior from RCHS seeking a degree in Education.

Harcourt Family Scholarship Fund

Established by Carl and Barbara Harcourt honoring Russell and Betty B. Harcourt, Marilyn Hardwick Woods, Maurita Ball, Betty Spyrison, and Sharalie Harcourt. Provides a scholarship award to residents of Orange or Anderson Township for any schooling beyond high school.

Harold Clifton and Frances Mitchell Clifton Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by Candyce Clifton Krumwiede in memory of her parents.  The scholarship is available for a student(s) planning to attend Purdue University to pursue a Bachelors degree in the field of agriculture or education.

Holli Spaeth Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established by Mike and Karen Spaeth in memory of their daughter, Holli.  Scholarship awards support a Rushville Consolidated High School graduating senior with at least a “C” average pursuing a degree at an accredited university, college or trade school.  Preference for scholarship awards is given to students active in the Rush County Junior Leaders program.

Hubert and Grace Alexander Scholarship Fund

Established by Marilyn Forsythe in memory of her parents, who were long time Rush County residents.  The scholarship recognizes a student that is a sophomore or above at Purdue University who maintains at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Hubert E. and Anna Louise Chance Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by Beverly Kirkpatrick, Avonelle Leissring Dare, and Monte Chance in honor of their parents, teachers for many years in Rush County Schools.  The scholarship fund is awarded to a student pursuing an undergraduate degree in education.

Jack and Cinda Brown Basketball Mental Attitude Scholarship Fund

Established in 2010 by Jack and Cinda Brown, the scholarship fund recognizes a male and female Rushville Consolidated High School graduating senior who played basketball for four years. Preference for this award is given to a non-starter who exemplifies a great mental attitude.

Jean H. Walker & Ivan G. Alexander Fund

A scholarship fund that awards a deserving Rushville Consolidated High School graduating senior in need of financial assistance with funds for ongoing education.

Jean Matlock Scholarship for Young Women

Established by Blair Hull and the Hull Family Foundation in memory of his mother, Jean Matlock. The purpose of the fund is to assist a female student(s) who will attend an accredited college or university with a scholarship renewable for up to four (4) years.

Jeff Hufford Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created in memory of an active Rush County Schools teacher and Briar Patch Player leader, funds are awarded to assist a graduating senior from RCHS attending a 2-or 4-year college or university in the State of Indiana.  Preference will be given to a student studying broadcasting or communications.

Jessy L. McClure Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to award a graduating senior from RCHS attending college as a full-or part-time student.

Jinks Family Scholarship Fund

Established by Sara Jinks to honor a long family lineage of teachers, this scholarship fund is to assist a Rush County or Fayette County resident pursuing a teaching degree. This fund specifically benefits a student above their freshman year of college that is working to pay for his/her education.

Joan L. McLaughlin Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund created to award two scholarships each year, one to a graduating senior of RCHS and one to a RCHS graduate at a sophomore level or above in college.

John and Martha Leising Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established to assist a student(s) who plans to or are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at Purdue University.

John and Rosemary Cain Scholarship Fund

To provide a scholarship to a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville, Indiana.

John and Susan Wilson Unsung Hero Award

Selected by nomination, this scholarship recognizes a deserving senior athlete from Rushville Consolidated High School exhibiting tireless dedication for the success and support of the team.

John Foster Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by Virginia Foster, Ethan Foster and Emma Worland, this scholarship fund will benefit a graduating student from Rushville Consolidated High School (or its successor), with preference provided to an individual involved with the school soccer program(s) (player, manager, etc.). Priority should be given to a student(s) based on academic standing (GPA) and community involvement.

John Sam Anderson Scholarship Fund

Established by Sandra Gordon & Nancy Mitchell to honor John Sam, a music teacher at New Salem for many years.  The scholarship award is to support students from Anderson, Noble and Richland Townships who were active in music at RCHS.

Judge John W. Goddard Family Scholarship

This scholarship benefits a Greensburg Community High School graduate who is enrolled full-time at Butler University, Hanover College, Indiana State University (Terre Haute), Indiana University (Bloomington), Ivy Tech Community College, Purdue University (West Lafayette), and/or Vincennes University.

Ken Brashaber FFA Scholarship

Established in 2014 by Ken Brashaber, a former Rushville Consolidated High School agriculture teacher and FFA advisor.  This scholarship is to benefit a graduating senior from Rushville Consolidated High School that has been active in the Rush County chapter of the FFA organization.  The recipient must have been enrolled in at least 3 years of high school agriculture courses, maintained a 2.5 or better GPA, must have attained a Chapter Degree for FFA, and must be planning to attend a four year college or university pursuing a baccalaureate degree.

Ken Brashaber Purdue Farmhouse Scholarship Fund for Monroe and Rush County students

A scholarship fund established by Ken Brashaber to benefit students active in the Farmhouse chapter at Purdue University.  This scholarship can benefit a student from either Rush County or Monroe County.

Kiwanis Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to assist a Rush County resident with their college education.

Kyle Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by Rodney, Loretta, Alisa and Joshua Henderson in memory of their son and brother, this scholarship assists a student attending an accredited trade or vocation school.  Preference for the award(s) is given to students that have been active in FFA and 4-H pursuing a degree in agriculture, construction management, heating and cooling, electrical or plumbing.

Laurie Saunders Marlatt Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established to provide a scholarship to a Rush County resident or applicant employed in Rush County with preference given to a student pursuing further educational opportunities as a dental hygienist, dental assistant, expanded dental assistant, or dentist. If there are no applicants entering the dental field, students pursuing a degree in a healthcare field will be considered. Preference given to students displaying financial need.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Nominee Fund

A scholarship fund established in 2003 by Grant and Anna Reeves to support a Rush County student identified through the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship search other than the actual recipients.  Grant was the first Lilly Endowment Community Scholar from Rush County.

Lora Brook Hatfield Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 2011 in memory of their daughter by Nancy Newton and Brad Hatfield, this scholarship award will assist a graduating senior from either Knightstown Community High School or Rushville Consolidated High School with continuing education expenses.  The recipient must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Madeline Gullion Knight Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by Robert and Daphne Toby in memory of Madeline Gullion Knight, a teacher for many years.  The scholarship is awarded to a graduate or undergraduate student pursuing a degree in education.

Marcia and Les Blair Community Scholarship Fund

Established in 2009 by friends and family of Marcia and Les, the scholarship fund supports a person who is striving to improve themselves by working toward a degree, an advanced degree, or toward additional certification in their chosen occupation.  The scholarship does not support a graduating high school student.

Margaret E., M. Ralph, and William R. Matney Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to assist a graduate of RCHS with ongoing education expenses.  Preference for this scholarship is given to students studying engineering, photography or nursing.

Marian G. White Purdue Scholarship

A scholarship fund established to support Rush County students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.  Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA.

Marion & Lois Liggett and Family Educational Scholarship Fund

Scholarship established by the Liggett Family to assist an RCHS graduate or Rush County resident attending Purdue University, as a sophomore or higher, to study veterinary medicine or education. Student must exhibit financial need, a strong work ethic and character and be involved in the community. Students may reapply. Veterinary medicine students may receive the award up to four times and education students twice.

Maurice W. (Porky) Wainwright Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established to support a Rushville Consolidated High School graduate attending technical or professional school studying a home building trade.

Mays Elementary 1929-2015 Scholarship Fund

To commemorate the closure of the Mays Elementary School, the Mays Elementary PTO established a scholarship fund to support a student residing in a former Mays Elementary School township with their post-secondary education.  Preference will be given to a former Mays Elementary School student, until no longer applicable.

Melvin D. Gray Art Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund that awards a second-year college student majoring in Art. If no qualified applications are received, this scholarship may be awarded to a graduating high school senior pursuing an art degree or a high school graduate who is returning to school to pursue an art degree.

Mental Health Association – Bobby Dean Scholarship

2021 Dean Mental HealthA scholarship fund to assist a deserving student from Rush County who is a junior or senior undergraduate seeking a degree in a health care field.

Michael J. Keith Fund

A scholarship fund to help provide a male student with a degree from an accredited trade school.

Milroy Christian Church Scholarship Fund (Kenneth E. and Mabel B. Smith)

A scholarship fund established to assist a member of the Milroy Christian Church in pursuit of a ministerial-related degree at a four-year college or university.

Morris F. and Jane Marshall Fisher Fund

2021 FisherA scholarship fund that gives preference to supporting a Rush County student attending or planning to attend Miami of Ohio University.  If no completed applications are submitted for Miami of Ohio then this scholarship is awarded to a student attending or planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university in Indiana.

Norma R. Harcourt School of Nursing Memorial Scholarship

Established by Susan Harcourt Gray to honor her mother’s service as a Public Health Nurse for 53 years, this scholarship fund provides financial assistance to a Rush County resident that is pursuing an education resulting in licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Phillip E. Mitchell Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established by Sharon Creager and friends of Phil Mitchell to honor his many years in education. The award is to assist a student majoring in education with college expenses.

Pippa Flanary Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established by Jon and Morgan Flanary in memory of their daughter, Pippa. Scholarship awards support students who are enrolled in a program that will lead to a career in nursing at an accredited two or four-year public or private institutions of higher learning.

R. N. Club Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to support a Rush County resident accepted into a nursing program pursuing an education resulting in licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Rex A. and Lucille G. Readle Education Fund

A scholarship fund created to support graduating Rush County students who reside in Posey Township, Rush County, IN with college expenses.

Richard and Loretta Busald Family Nursing Scholarship Fund

Established in 2005 by Richard Busald, Janice Robbins, Janet Pike, Jacquelyn Angle, Jane Carter and John Busald. This scholarship provides funds to a second, third or fourth year college student in good standing in a Registered Nurse program in pursuit of an education which will result in the licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Robert D. Wainwright Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund that awards supports a Rushville Consolidated High School graduating senior studying accounting at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.

Robert H. Schondelmayer Bible College Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established by Paul and Judy Schondelmayer to honor Paul’s Father, Reverend Robert Schondelmayer.  This fund supports college expenses for a person enrolled in a ministerial degree program at an accredited Bible College.

Robert L. Winters Scholarship Fund

Scholarship awards provide support to a graduating senior studying accounting or business at an accredited two- or four-year school.  Preference for scholarships is given to applicants residing in Ripley Township, Rush County, IN.

Robert Meyer and Family 4-H Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to award a college student at a sophomore level or above who participated in the Rush County 4-H program the last five years in which they were eligible to participate.

Rush County Friends of Purdue University (Mary Katherine Waits)

A scholarship fund established to support Rush County students attending Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.  Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA.

Rush County Junior Leader 4-H Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund that supports an undergraduate student who was involved with the Rush County 4-H Junior Leader program for at least three years.

Rushville Psi Iota Xi Sorority Scholarship Fund

Provide a scholarship to assist a RCHS graduate or resident of Rush County who will attend an accredited college or university.

Ruth and Bill Houk Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to award a graduating senior from RCHS pursuing ongoing education in the field of education with plans to become a school teacher.

Scott Brooks Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 2012 by friends and family of Scott Brooks represented by Carl, Marcia and Tina Brooks. The scholarship award is given to a graduating senior or a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School.  The recipient must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale and must be planning to participate in or continue participation in intercollegiate athletics at a two or four year college or university.

Stephen M. Petry Memorial Scholarship Fund

Provides a scholarship to a Rushville Consolidated High School or Ripley Township Knightstown Community High School graduate who is a sophomore or above majoring in Special Education with plans to become a Special Education Teacher.  If there are no applicants meeting this criteria, the scholarship may be awarded to a Rush County resident and/or Rush County Schools teacher working toward a Master’s Degree or higher in Special Education.

Thomas F. Marshall Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund to assist college students in their third year or above that are in good academic standing.  Preference will be give to students studying in the fields of mental health, social work or law.

Victor and Dorothy Koontz Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 2008 by the Memorial Committee of Little Flatrock Christian Church, this fund provides a scholarship to a male student studying to become a Christian minister.

Ward, Richardson and Corn Families Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund established to support a graduating senior of Rushville Consolidated High School attending a college in Indiana. Applicants must have maintained a “C” average.

William F. and Lelande Anise Hunt Beher Memorial Scholarship Fund

The endowed scholarship fund was established in 1996 by William F. Beher and Linda Beher Richards.  The annual scholarship award will be given to a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School with preference given to a graduate student in the field of elementary education. If there are no graduate students in the field of elementary education, the scholarship may be awarded to an undergraduate student in the field of elementary education who is above a sophomore level in college.

Wilma B. Wainwright Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund that supports a Rushville Consolidated High School graduate classified above a sophomore level in college pursuing a degree in Business Accounting.
