Many Ways to Give to RCCF

As the season of giving rapidly approaches, it’s a great time to think about the methods in which you can donate to the Rush County Community Foundation.

Though many donors are unaware, giving to the Rush County Community Foundation can come in a variety of forms.  Cash, donation of assets, charitable lead trusts, bequests in will and/or revocable trusts, stock, retirement plans, life insurance, home/farm, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable annuity trusts are all opportunities for donors to consider when giving to the Rush County Community Foundation.

If you are unfamiliar with any of the donation options available, you might want to consider talking with your accountant or attorney as you review your estate plan and prepare for end of the year giving.  Donations to the Rush County Community Foundation are tax-deductible, but many of the contribution options can provide an even greater tax benefit.  Gifts of life insurance, trusts, and assets can reduce estate taxes.  Gifts of assets , cash, annuities, stock, and bonds can help donors escape capital gains tax.  Determining the best route to donate varies by donor, but knowing the many options available may be beneficial as you consider how you’d like to give to the Rush County Community Foundation.

Giving to the Rush County Community Foundation is an opportunity to give back to the entire Rush County community.  The Foundation has 170 endowment funds, providing permanent income to nonprofit organizations, churches, cemeteries, students pursuing a higher education, and the community as a whole.  Donors have enabled the Foundation’s growth to over $12 million in assets and $9 million in community contributions, numbers that will only continue to increase in value and impact forever.
