Foundation Fact Friday: Operating Funds Support RCCF

Among the many funds at the Rush County Community Foundation, there are five funds that exist to support the Foundation’s operations.  These special funds provide ongoing funding to ensure that RCCF is able to conduct business as a nonprofit organization and fulfill our mission of enriching and enhancing the quality of life in Rush County – forever.

As a small, local nonprofit organization, we operate efficiently on a budget of approximately $250,000 annually.  Four permanently endowed funds and an operating fund for more emergent needs provide enough support through annual distributions to make this budget possible.  The permanent endowment funds continue to grow and re-distribute earnings, ensuring the Foundation can continue to do our good work as both a business and a philanthropic organization into the future.

As the Rush County Community Foundation continues to add funds and expand our reach within the community through grants, the administrative work required increases.  Supporting the Foundation’s continued growth through a gift to the operating fund is an opportunity to support further development of both RCCF and the community. Each year in the Foundation’s annual report donors who have elected to contribute to our operating fund(s) are recognized as “Friends of the Foundation”.  If you are interested in giving, levels include: Benjamin Rush Society (gifts of $1,000+), Patron (gifts of $500-$999), Donor (gifts of $100-$499), Family Friends (gifts of $50-$99), and Individual Friends (gifts of $25-$49). Every dollar given, when permanently invested, is a gift that will assist the Rush County Community Foundation’s future ability to grow and serve our community.
