Your Support in Action: Grantee RCHS 12th March 2025 2024 Recipient $1,622.50 from the Rush County Education Fund Submitted by: Amy Fox, RCHS Arts, AV and Communications Teacher This grant allowed me to purchase three more cameras for the Principles of Digital Design course at RCHS along with some fundraisers the students had done. With the addition of three more cameras to class, giving us a grand total of 8 cameras, students are able to complete their photography assignments within the given class period a lot easier. Sharing 8 cameras amongst 14 students in each class is more efficient that sharing 5 cameras. Students don’t feel rushed through their photography like they did prior to the purchase of the three new cameras. They feel like they can spend more time capturing that perfect photography instead of rushing through taking photos because classmates are waiting on an available camera. In this particular instance, time is my measurement of effectiveness in class. We just finished our first project with the three new cameras being added for student use. Students were very excited that they didn’t feel as much pressure to hurry up and take photos so the next person could use the camera. I also had more students checking out cameras so they could take photos at home for their project. I asked a couple of students who didn’t usually check out a camera why this time and they said because there were more cameras and they didn’t feel like they would be taking away from other students.
