YIP Spotlight: Josie Fields 3rd September 2019 Josie Fields is a talented basketball and volleyball playing junior at Rushville Consolidated High School and a three-year member of Youth in Philanthropy (YIP). She says that being involved with YIP has opened her eyes to noticing what the people around her need, as well as figuring out a way to fulfill those needs. So far, her favorite YIP event was stuffing 200+ Christmas stockings with candy and other treats. Josie thinks that doing philanthropic events during Christmas time is extra special because it allows all people in the community to feel like they have something to be thankful for. Josie loves to give back to the people of her community and see how happy it makes them. She has been able to give back frequently thanks to YIP and her involvement with Center Christian Church. Like many churches in the county, Center Christian has volunteer opportunities for its members such as painting the senior center. Josie loved seeing the smiles on the senior citizens and felt great after painting! Even though she has some time before she needs to make any career decisions, Josie knows she wants to be in a career that lets her help people and be involved with others. The Rush County Community Foundation is proud of her decision and sure that she will touch many lives in her lifetime! Like this? Share it:
