The Rush County Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that allows people to establish permanent endowment funds within the scope of one large foundation.
There are a total of 200 funds at the Rush County Community Foundation. You can help impact the community today by donating to one of our many funds or by creating your own fund.
The “Sharing of the Green” fund was started by the Rushville St. Patrick’s Day Committee to honor the legacy of their families’ Irish heritage and the friends and family who have supported their annual community Irish celebration.
The first Rushville St. Patrick’s day event hosted by co-chairman John McCane, Dan Shanahan and Brian Sheehan was held in 1999. Since that first event, the annual Irish celebration has raised nearly $190,000 to support local organizations and events. This fund’s goal is to share the generosity of our party patrons in creating a better future for our community for perpetuity. The “Sharing of the Green” fund is an unrestricted endowment fund to benefit the community via community grants.
