YIP Spotlight: Julia Holland 24th October 2019 RCHS senior Julia Holland is actively involved in several extracurricular activities, and many of them involve philanthropy. For example, Julia helps younger students by participating in Peer Helpers and Facilitators (PHAF) and Freshmen Mentors. She also helps her community through her involvement with Girls Scouts, Jivin’ Jackson 4-H Club, and Youth in Philanthropy (YIP). Julia currently serves as the YIP president, and she has learned a lot about the financial side of philanthropy through this organization. Julia’s plate seems pretty full with all of these clubs and school, and yet she still finds time to volunteer at the Rushville Animal Shelter, send gift cards to African schools and natural disaster victims, promote feminism on social media, and re-paint lions around town. Julia’s artsy skills came in handy two years ago when she repainted the nativity for the Wilbur Wright birthplace. Julia hopes the community will continue to do murals, and she would love to help out with one someday in a community-wide effort to unite people through art. RCCF is sure that with her drive and work ethic, Julia will accomplish this and anything else she sets her mind to! Like this? Share it:
