Heavy Trash Pick Up: Rushville

Acceptable heavy trash items may be set out for collection beginning Monday, September 30. The Rushville Street Department will remove heavy trash items on your normal trash day from October 7 to October 9.
This is only for city residents that have trash service provided by the city. All items need to be placed out for collection by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Any pile that will require 10 minutes or more for 2 employees to pick up will not be collected. If 2 employees can’t pick an item up, it will not be collected.
There are a number of items that will not be picked up – electronics (tv’s, computers, monitors, etc.), paint, tires, hazardous materials, air conditioners, and refrigerators. Any of the aforementioned items with the exception of tires can be deposited on the monthly tox-away day held the first Saturday of each month at the Smiley Avenue Transfer station. Tires can be disposed of at the Rush County Highway Garage during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 7-10:30 or 12-3:30. You will need to check in at the office when doing this.
Heavy Trash pickup dates are as follows:
Monday, September 30 – residents may begin placing items out for collection.
Monday, October 7 – residents on Mondays Trash route items will be collected.
Tuesday, October 8 – residents on Tuesdays Trash route items will be collected.
Wednesday, October 9 – residents on Wednesdays Trash route items will be collected.
