Grow With Us! This program is a made up of a total of 5 gardening classes that will allow you to deep dive into starting and growing a garden. You will be able to start seeds to take home for your garden space during our first session. The second session will be planning your garden. We will talk about how to prep the space or discuss if raised beds or container gardens would be a better fit for you. We will learn about companion planting and the timing of actually getting your plants in the ground. Our 3rd session will be a rain collection class. We will install a rain catchment system at the community garden as an example and learn all about the importance of using a rain barrel. Our 4th session will be planting at the community garden at Carol Jenkins Davis park. Then our last session is harvesting and preparing the food we harvest. We will have a pitch in meal to celebrate completing this Grow With Us program.

Additional information you need to know. There is a cost for this program of $20. You do need to register but can pay during the first class. You also will be encouraged to give 15 hours of service hours. We will help you find ways to fulfill those hours of course. At the end of our time, you will receive a small hand tool garden set and a certificate of completion. We would ask that you attend 4 of the 5 sessions and complete the volunteer time to receive the tools and certificate.
