About

The Rush County Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that allows people to establish permanent endowment funds within the scope of one large foundation. We also offer an inexpensive, value-added way to establish a named family fund. The distributions from these separate funds – and the principal if the donor desires – are available to respond to emerging opportunities and needs in Rush County or elsewhere, according to the donor’s charitable wishes.

Our personalized services have helped individuals, families, and businesses create more than 200 permanent endowments from gifts and bequests. These unique funds are as varied as the donors who created them. The funds range in value from $5,000 to millions of dollars and support a variety of community needs.

A thirteen member Board of Directors govern the Rush County Community Foundation. Directors determine policy, endowment development, and provide oversight of the Foundation.

Our Values

  • Integrity – We will be honest, truthful and ethical in all dealings.
  • Stewardship – We will be diligent in the oversight of our assets and resources, ensuring that our donors’ funds are managed and deployed in a manner best-fitting our mission and values.
  • Future-Focused – Rather than addressing immediate, short-term solutions, we will contemplate issues and solutions that provide a better future for our community.
  • Leadership – We will be a leading organization in our community on issues and solutions that serve our mission.
  • Community – More than simply a word in our organization’s name, community reflects the people we work with, for, and in support of. We value the relationships that comprise our community of donors, grantees and stakeholders and are committed to being approachable to all.
