YIP Spotlight: Casey Yager

Registered Nurse Casey Yager is helping countless people in the Emergency Room at Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Even when her shift at the hospital is over, Casey is still helping patients by volunteering at children’s screenings and immunization clinics. What dedication! Her other volunteer efforts include giving time and money to St. Mary’s Church through events such as the annual fall festival and donating to the Rushville food pantry. Casey wants to help the community because she loves Rushville and wants to give back to the people who helped her.

When she was in high school, Casey was a member of Youth in Philanthropy (YIP). This organization taught her how fun philanthropy is, especially when volunteering with other people. She carried this idea of philanthropy with her to college where it continued to grow as she volunteered with Children’s Charity Club and Student Nursing Organization. Her philanthropic values also grew as Casey considered how grateful she was to be a RCCF scholarship recipient. Casey thinks that the people who donate to RCCF are the true definition of philanthropists, and she was driven to work hard by their dedication to helping Rush County youth with college expenses. RCCF is glad to have supported such a thoughtful young woman with a huge servant heart.
