There’s No Place Like Our Home Town

Dear Friends,

More than sixty five years ago, Perry Como released the Christmas classic, “(There’s
No Place Like) Home for the Holidays” in which he sang, “When you pine for the
sunshine of a friendly gaze / For the holidays you can’t beat home sweet home!
With the holiday season upon us, we’ve been reflecting on the growth made
possible this year by you. Amidst the challenges and change faced by our
community, our country, and beyond, our love for “home sweet home” Rush
County remains, and in many cases, has grown stronger.

The pandemic may have shifted our momentum, but the Rush County Community
Foundation is still taking impressive steps forward. With a generous donation from
Lilly Endowment Inc. (and guidance from Ball State University), we’ll be forming
a group of county residents to create a community advancement action plan to
continue our work enhancing the quality of life in Rush County for current and
future residents. *UPDATE* And, we have been named a finalist recipient for a transformative $5 million
grant to build a community center to provide health, education and recreation
opportunities for current and new residents alike! It will be an investment in every
aspect of our community’s future. Read more.

No matter how far away you’ve roamed or if you’re home for the holidays, we
humbly ask that you help us grow closer to our goals for our beloved hometown
with a gift, of any size
.

From Mays to Milroy, we offer our sincere wish that you and yours have a safe
and merry holiday season!

Thank you,

Alisa Winters
Executive Director
