Scholar Update: Brian Marlatt

Brian Marlatt is working as the general manager at First Choice Seeds in Rushville. He was elated to be able to stay with the company he interned for in college while having the chance to move back to his hometown after graduating. Besides the family farm, Brian also wanted to move home because of his desire to give back to the community that gave him a scholarship for college through the community foundation. Since moving back, Brian has been involved with the 4-H Tractor Club, First Presbyterian Church, and More for Kids. Brian also donates to different causes throughout the community.

Brian is inspired to give back because of the values his parents instilled in him. These values specifically inspired him to become a 4-H leader because this organization allowed him to follow in his father’s footsteps. Brian is very proud to come from a farming family and community, especially since Rush County is the 8th-largest corn producing county in the state! Brian has been thinking of ways the county could improve its agriculture even more, and RCCF is excited to see what his ideas could become. We wish you the best Brian!
