The Rush County Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that allows people to establish permanent endowment funds within the scope of one large foundation.

As a public charity, we are able to achieve our mission by investing donated funds and distributing earnings annually to award grants to Rush County organizations, people and projects.

Established at the Carthage Elementary School time of closure in 2014, the Carthage Elementary Parent Teacher Organization donated remaining PTO funds to provide a scholarship to a graduating senior who is active in their community. The student must have attended Carthage Elementary School or reside in the former Carthage Elementary School district, Ripley Township.
