Rush County Genealogical Society Meeting November 15 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm Free « Root to Rise Yoga Class Rush County Humane Society Meeting » The Rush County Genealogical Society (RCGS) final meeting of 2023 will take place o n Nov. 15 at the Rushville Public Library. The featured speaker is Larry Stout, Rush County Heritage president and recipient of the 2011 Sandi Servaas Memorial Award from Indiana Landmarks. The Servaas Award is Landmark’s highest honor given annually for individual preservation service. The topic is “Gowdy…the History of.” A dedicated historian, Stout has some unique stories to share. He has previously given presentations on Knowles Shaw, author and composer of gospel songs such as “Bringing in the Sheaves,” and Kid McCoy, the famous boxer born in Moscow, Indiana. Election of officers and updates on volunteer projects and the matching gift campaign will take place at 6:30 p.m. The program is open to the public.
