Overview of Scholarships

The RCCF has more than 70 scholarship funds that have been established by generous donors.

Since our first scholarship funds were distributed in 1995, more than $2.8 million in local scholarship awards have been given to Rush County students.

The amount we award annually continues to grow because of donors and our investment strategy.  Because our funds are “endowed” (permanently invested), Rush County Community Foundation scholarship funds will give money to local students forever.

Rush County residents pursuing higher education at an accredited university, college, or trade school, part-time or full-time, are eligible to apply for scholarships.

Awards are subject to IRS regulations, Community Foundation policy, and criteria established by donors.

Payment of scholarship awards is directly remitted to the student’s institution.

RCCF scholarships are to be used only for qualified education expenses as defined by the IRS:  tuition, fees, and book costs qualify for our scholarships.  Funds cannot be applied toward any other expenses (including room and board) that students may incur during their college career.

Scholarships are awarded annually in the spring, providing financial assistance for continued education for the following fall and spring semesters.  One application process is required each year.
