How Community Grant funding improves Rush County – and allows you to further your dollars!

Imagine living in a community with limited and outdated park amenities, fewer social service agencies to assist those in need, volunteer firefighters without the capacity to safely protect your family, and reduced opportunities for youth activities.   Without the Rush County Community Foundation’s contributions from unrestricted endowment (aka “community grant”) funds, this gloomy depiction could be Rush County’s reality.

Fortunately, the generosity of many donors has allowed the Rush County Community Foundation to positively impact the aforementioned causes and needs, among many other programs and projects, by offering community grants through unrestricted endowment dollars to ultimately improve the quality of life in our community.  More than $1 million in community investment from community grants alone has developed wonderful community resources, furthered the capabilities of numerous nonprofit agencies, and allowed our residents to rest easily at night knowing that public service agencies and volunteers have adequate supplies and resources to assist if a need arises.  If you’ve walked on the fitness trail, enjoyed concerts at Riverside Park Amphitheater, appreciated improvements at the Fairgrounds, or simply noticed the beauty of the trees at the courthouse, you’ve been impacted by RCCF.  The list goes on, but with over 300 community grants awarded, you can assume that you’ve benefitted from a RCCF community grant.

The Foundation’s unrestricted endowment funds are arguably the most encompassing money we have to give as a Foundation.  These dollars inevitably impact every single resident and visitor of Rush County, yet they remain the hardest dollars to raise.  In March, the Foundation is excited to extend your dollars and increase awareness of unrestricted funds by offering a match of $1 for $1 for contributions made to these funds, which support the community grants program.  The Rush County Community Foundation’s Board of Directors has allocated $25,000 for matching funds, available only in March, to maximize your opportunity to contribute to making a lasting difference in our community.

The Rush County Community Foundation exists to make an impact in the Rush County community – forever.  However, this impact cannot be made without you.  Stay tuned for further announcements, and prepare to make the most of your dollar through a contribution to the Foundation’s unrestricted grant funds in March!

The Rush County Community Foundation exists to serve donors, award grants and scholarships, and provide leadership to enrich and enhance the quality of life in Rush County, Indiana, not only today, but for our future generations.  Be a part of the difference; any gift size is welcome and makes a difference forever.
