Bob Priddy Sports Partner Fund Established

The Bob Priddy Sports Partner Fund was recently established by Bob’s daughter Deby Priddy and family friend Christie Love.  The Bob Priddy Sports Partner Fund is a field of interest fund at the Rush County Community Foundation that will support Rush County youth involved in team sports by providing financial assistance with team participation fees and/or sports camp tuition and fees.

Bob had a passion for assisting youth in a variety of endeavors, but always seemed to find himself immersed in youth sports.  He, along with a few others, began the local youth baseball league in Rush County in the 1950s.    Aside from his full-time work at First Credit Co., Inc., he spent years coaching girls golf, baseball, basketball, and soccer in Rushville, Lawrence Township, and Greenfield.  He was well-known and well-loved throughout the communities in which he was involved, often thought of as an additional “grandpa” figure to those families he encountered.

When considering how to appropriately honor their late father and friend, Deby and Christie determined that establishing a permanent endowment fund at the Foundation would provide the opportunity to continue Bob’s legacy by forever making an impact on youth.  Local youth in need of financial assistance with sports team fees or the cost of sports camp can now apply to receive funding.

Alisa Winters, RCCF Executive Director said, “Despite the Foundation’s proximity to First Credit Co., beyond a friendly wave and smile most mornings I didn’t have a chance to know Bob or Frances.  It has been a pleasure to work with Deby and Christie on the development of this Fund, and especially rewarding to get to know more about the life and character of Bob.  It’s evident he has made an impact on so many children and families throughout the years, and through the creation of this fund, he will continue to impact children in our community forever.  On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’d like to thank Deby and Christie for considering the Foundation as the vehicle to carry out Bob’s legacy.”

If you would like to make a donation to this Fund you may send your donation to the Rush County Community Foundation, 117 N. Main St., Rushville, IN 46173 with a note included that you would like it added to the Bob Priddy Sports Partner Fund.  If you are interested in applying, a grant application is available on the Foundation’s website (www.rushcountyfoundation.org) or in our office.
